3 Ways to RegisterThings You Should Know

 

1. You can register for classes or program offerings by clicking the sign-in link on the left. Browse the courses link and add your choices to your shopping cart. Please remember to read the Things You Should Know section below.
2. Call 513-529-8600. Our staff can take your registration information or answer your questions.
3. Fax the completed registration form with your credit card information to: 513-529-8608.

Parking

To park on the Miami University Oxford campus a visitor parking permit is required. There is no charge for the permit, we do however require a license plate number in order to request one. Please call Lifelong Learning at 513-529-8600 in order to have your request processed. Please note--we cannot issue parking permits to Miami faculty, staff, or students. NEW REFUND POLICY FOR ALL PROGRAMS:

No refunds for cancellations made within one week prior to the event or class. To officially withdraw from a class you must notify Lifelong Learning. Failure to attend, or notification to the instructor, does not constitute an official withdraw. There will be a $10 non-refundable administrative fee applied to all cancellations. Online Courses--No refund once class has begun. Miami University reserves the right to change instructors and postpone or cancel courses due to insufficient enrollments or unforeseen circumstances. For the Miami Speech Institute there is a $100 non-refundable deposit.

Institute for Learning in Retirement classes and membership (ILR) 

The semester cost for an ILR membership is $60.00 which includes the fall or spring semester registration tuition. Please see membership information for detailed description. You must be a member of the ILR to get your classes at the reduced cost. Discount does not apply to any additional fees that an individual class may have for supplies or services. Do not sign up as a household profile because household profiles can't purchase memberships.

Inclement Weather

Lifelong attempts to run all scheduled classes and programs. In the event of cancellations caused by bad weather or emergencies, the office notifies local radio and television broadcast stations as soon as a decision is made to cancel our offerings.

Where do classes meet?

Classes meet on the Miami University Oxford campus as well as off-campus locations such as local churches, meeting rooms, private businesses, or rental locations in the Oxford area.

When can I sign up?

If space is available in an offering, registrations are taken until the first day of the class. However, we encourage you to register early.

What are the Lifelong Learning's office hours?

The office is open 7:30 a.m. to 4:30p.m. daily, Monday through Friday. The office is closed on federal holidays, and other days when the university is closed.

Why do I get voice mail when I call the office?

We would prefer that when you call you talk to an information specialist immediately, but the office operates with a minimal staff, and occasionally only one staff member is in the office to provide customer service. Please be aware that we will respond to every voice mail message as quickly as possible. Leave a short message including your name and phone number, with an area code. Often we are not able to return calls because the message is not clear, or the number is not given.
